The parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee has confirmed the current gasoline crisis is linked to regional security conditions and ongoing conflict. Measures are being implemented to mitigate its impact on citizens by enhancing imported fuel volumes and supporting the local market. In press statements, Jihad Al-Abadi, a member of the parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, clarified that "the primary causes of the current crisis are directly attributable to the prevailing regional situation." He noted that "storage and production capacities have exceeded available limits concerning certain aspects of supply." Al-Abadi affirmed that "relevant authorities are exerting utmost efforts to minimize adverse effects on citizens and ensure continuous fuel availability at stations, through a series of rapid remedies." He highlighted that "last month saw the arrival of two gasoline tankers to support local needs," emphasizing that "import operations will continue in the coming periods, bringing in additional shipments to boost supply and ensure stable provision of the commodity to citizens." Al-Abadi explained that "gasoline importation serves as a supportive measure in the current phase to overcome challenges stemming from regional circumstances and prevent citizens from being significantly affected by the crisis's repercussions."
