Security forces announced on Tuesday the arrest of 25 suspects on charges of bribery, forgery, and fraud, along with dismantling several criminal networks across multiple provinces. The operations were carried out based on precise intelligence and judicial approvals, covering the provinces of Diyala, Baghdad, Maysan, Babil, Diwaniyah, and Basra. The arrests included government employees and members of criminal networks. A land forgery network was dismantled in Diyala, another involved in forging martyr retirement transactions in Baghdad, and employees manipulating state land assessments in Maysan were apprehended, along with committee members in Diwaniyah. Officials caught employees red-handed in bribery and forgery in Basra and Diyala, including a Basra employee who received $10,000. The operations also led to the arrest of fraudsters promising fake job appointments within the National Security staff in Babil and the Ministry of Education staff in Diwaniyah, and a network involved in sorcery and witchcraft in Baghdad was dismantled. Counterfeit financial bonds worth billions of dinars, computers, dozens of transactions, files, official documents, IDs, and cash were seized. All suspects were detained and referred along with the seized items to the competent judicial authorities for legal procedures in accordance with the law.
