Iraqi Ambassador in Tehran: Najaf Airport to Reopen for Iranian Flights Within 24 Hours

The Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran, Yasser Abdul Zahra Al-Hajjaj, announced on Monday that Najaf International Airport will reopen its doors to Iranian flights within the next 24 hours. He affirmed this comes as part of ongoing governmental efforts, led by Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi, to fully resume air traffic between Iraq and Iran. Abdul Zahra clarified that the previous halt in flights was not a direct government decision but resulted from foreign ground handling companies abstaining from providing services, fearing US sanctions. He reiterated that the airport will be ready to receive Iranian aircraft within 24 hours.
