Interior Minister vows to double security efforts and enforce the rule of law

Interior Minister Yasser Al-Maliki announced on Friday that efforts will be doubled to consolidate security and stability and strengthen the rule of law. In a statement, Al-Maliki expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, his deputies, and council members representing the people, for their precious trust, considering it a grave national responsibility and a great trust requiring dedicated and sincere work. He added that leading the Ministry of Interior represents a major national assignment that requires doubling efforts to establish security and stability, enhance the rule of law, protect citizens, safeguard their rights and freedoms, and develop the security institution to meet the aspirations of the people. He concluded by asking God for success in performing this responsibility, hoping to live up to the expectations of the nation and national forces, and ensuring Iraq's supreme interest and security remain above all considerations.
