Bloomberg reported that the United States and Iran are very far apart on an agreement to end weeks of war and reopen the vital Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, as a drone attack caused a fire at a UAE nuclear plant, highlighting the risks of a fragile ceasefire.

Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported that "the United States set five main conditions for the peace agreement, including hand over the uranium used in Iran's nuclear program to the United States, Washington not paying any compensations demanded by Tehran, and unfreezing less than a quarter of frozen Iranian assets. Fars did not mention a source for the information, and the United States did not comment publicly on these conditions."

Meanwhile, the semi-official Mehr News Agency reported that Washington offered "no tangible concessions" while seeking "to obtain concessions it failed to secure during the war, which will lead to a stalemate in the negotiations."
