Supreme Judicial Council Approves 25 ID Documents for Missing Remains in Nineveh

The Supreme Judicial Council approved today, Friday, 25 identification documents for missing persons whose remains were found in Nineveh province. The Council clarified that this approval came after the Nineveh Court of Appeal Presidency completed all legal and technical procedures. These documents belong to victims whose remains were discovered in various mass graves within Nineveh. The procedures included DNA matching tests conducted by the Forensic Medicine Department, which confirmed the remains' correspondence with the missing persons' relatives. The Council noted that the approved identification document serves as crucial official evidence to establish the victim's identity and death. It also forms the basis for completing the necessary legal procedures related to issuing death certificates and legal inheritance documents, and ensures all legal rights for the martyrs' families, in accordance with applicable laws.
