Baghdad Operations Command announced on Wednesday the removal of six metal smelting furnaces and the closure of seven factories violating environmental regulations. Official statements indicated that Diwani Order Committee number 241285 continues its duties within the ongoing environmental campaign by auditing unlicenced factories, plants, and smelting furnaces. The committee, in cooperation with detachments from the National Security Service, Karkh and الرصافة environmental police, Baghdad environment Directorate, and municipal departments, supported by security forces from the fifth and second divisions of the Federal Police, managed to remove six metal smelting furnaces and close seven factories along with two yards for recycling aluminum and plastic operating outside approved environmental standards. The joint security campaign, which focused on the Sabaa Qasour and Taji areas across both the Karkh and Rusafa sides, also resulted in the arrest of eleven individuals violating residency and nationality regulations who were working inside the targeted facilities.
