Rubio: China faces consequences if launching military operation against Taiwan
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that China would face international consequences if it decided to use force against Taiwan. Rubio said, "We believe that attempting to resolve this issue by force or any other means would be a grave mistake. The consequences would be global, not limited to the American side." He added in an interview, "The growth pace of the Chinese military over the past ten years is unprecedented." Earlier today, Donald Trump expressed hope that the United States and China would have a "wonderful" future. Yesterday, Wednesday, US President Donald Trump arrived in the Chinese capital, Beijing, for a 3-day state visit, the first by a US president to China in 9 years, according to China Central Television. Trump's official visit to China will extend from May 13 to 15, limited to Beijing only, with no other Chinese city trips announced. Trump's last visit to China was November 8 to 11, 2017, during his first term, while Joe Biden did not visit China during his presidency.
