New Procedures to Facilitate Passenger Entry at Baghdad Airport Include Staying Inside Vehicles

The Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday the launch of the first package of measures aimed at facilitating passenger entry into Baghdad International Airport. The airport director, Harith Al-Obeidi, clarified that this package is part of a broader plan to reduce passenger waiting times and improve the flow of entry traffic. The new procedures include allowing passengers to remain inside their vehicles during security checks at entry gates, rather than disembarking. Furthermore, K9 detection units will be deployed in inspection operations, with the goal of expediting procedures and alleviating congestion at the airport gates. Al-Obeidi affirmed that these steps represent the initial phase of the facilitation plan, and their implementation results will be closely monitored and evaluated in the field. This is a prelude to transitioning to further stages of simplifying procedures, thereby enhancing entry efficiency while simultaneously maintaining security requirements.
