Civil Defense Extinguishes Fire in Unsafe Commercial Building in Baghdad's Al-Talibiya

Baghdad's Civil Defense Directorate announced Tuesday the extinguishing of a major fire that erupted in a commercial building in the Al-Talibiya area, eastern the capital. Specialized teams fully controlled the flames inside the building, which was designated for foodstuff trade on the Rusafa side, with no injuries or human casualties reported from the incident. The Directorate affirmed in a statement that its teams swiftly contained the fire and prevented its spread, thus minimizing material damages at the site. It stressed that the building presented a significant hazard due to its non-compliance with approved safety conditions and security requirements. Following the incident, the Civil Defense Directorate called for an immediate official investigation, requesting the summoning of a forensic expert to determine the precise circumstances and causes of the blaze.
