Iraq Sees Temperature Spike, Two Provinces Hit 46 Degrees Celsius

Iraq's General Commission for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring forecasts a 3 to 4 degrees Celsius rise in maximum temperatures today, Tuesday, especially during the afternoon. Conversely, early morning and night hours will experience moderate weather. Basra and Maysan are expected to record the highest temperatures at 46 degrees Celsius. Muthanna, Dhi Qar, and Najaf follow with 45 degrees. Karbala, Wasit, Babil, and Diwaniyah will reach 44 degrees. Baghdad and Diyala are set for 43 degrees, while Salah al-Din and Anbar register 42 degrees, Nineveh 41 degrees, and Kirkuk 40 degrees. Erbil is forecast to experience 38 degrees, with Duhok and Sulaymaniyah at 37 degrees. Winds will be south-easterly, light to moderate. Exceptions apply to the eastern parts of the country and some northern areas, where winds will be variable in direction.
