Iraqi Court Sentences Six Convicts to 15 Years for Embezzling Salah al-Din Funds

Salah al-Din Criminal Court sentenced on Sunday six individuals to 15 years in prison for seizing funds allocated to provincial service projects. The judiciary media office stated in a release that the embezzled sums were dedicated to rehabilitating and maintaining electrical systems, cleaning state departments, and an estimated assessment for supplying 400 kV power line materials. The court handed down the rulings pursuant to Article 316/Part One of Penal Code No. 111 of 1969, in conjunction with participation articles 47, 48, and 49 of the same law.
