Iraq Announces Seizure of 15 Drone Platforms, Affirms Security Commitments

The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Nu'man, announced the seizure of 15 platforms designated for launching drones. Al-Nu'man affirmed that Baghdad will not permit any security breaches affecting neighboring countries. In televised remarks, Al-Nu'man praised Saudi Arabia's stance aimed at de-escalating the situation, following recent attacks targeting the Kingdom that originated from Iraqi territory. He stressed that Iraq will not become part of regional tensions, asserting in the same context that security agencies continue to pursue any party utilizing weapons outside the framework of the state. He clarified that the seizure of the 15 drone launch platforms occurs as ongoing investigations continue regarding the recent attacks. He revealed the presence of high-level committees in Maysan province tasked with investigating these aggressions, concurrent with the implementation of a series of strict security measures in the province. Al-Nu'man also confirmed the issuance of firm directives to dismiss negligent officials in the security sector, indicating the authorities' intention to deploy sufficient security forces in Maysan to enhance security. He reiterated that Baghdad will not allow any transgressions impacting neighboring states, nor any use of weapons outside the framework of legitimate state institutions.
