Iran's Foreign Ministry Urges US to Honor Pledges for Ending Wars on All Fronts, Including Lebanon
Iran's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday urged the United States to honor its commitments to end conflicts on all fronts, including Lebanon, under the memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Ismail Baqaei, affirmed Washington's need to adhere to its pledges to cease wars across all regional arenas, as per the memorandum. Concerning the Strait of Hormuz, Baqaei highlighted Iran's clear stance and its full assumption of responsibilities, emphasizing no need for external interference, as it would only complicate matters. He also stated that Tehran's commitments regarding the memorandum's provisions for the Strait are perfectly clear, adding that his country will discuss the issue of frozen funds with Qatar in Doha tomorrow. Baqaei pointed out that final agreement talks with Washington depend on implementing commitments in five memorandum clauses, clarifying that all regime pillars participate in decisions on peace, war, and ongoing negotiations. He warned that US non-compliance with these provisions would negatively impact the current path, asserting that any American action would be met with a firm, immediate response from Iranian forces. Finally, he called on the International Atomic Energy Agency Director to act responsibly and avoid repeating political statements.
