Head of Security Media Cell: Sovereignty Day Establishes New Phase in Iraq's Global Relations

The Security Media Cell affirmed on Tuesday that "Sovereignty Day" marks a pivotal moment towards a new phase in Iraq's relations with other nations. The head of the Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, stated to the official agency that this day solidifies relations based on mutual interests, aligning with Iraq's vision and its people's welfare. He clarified that Sovereignty Day reflects the state's and its institutions' capacity to assume responsibility for protecting the country and confronting security challenges, thereby enhancing citizens' trust in security and military bodies. Maan added that strengthening sovereignty contributes to unifying security decisions and making them clearer, boosting the ability of security agencies to enforce law and protect residents. He pointed out that limiting weapons to the state and applying the law to all are fundamental elements for reinforcing state prestige and internal stability. He also emphasized that these principles represent a governmental necessity and a priority within the government program to achieve stability and social peace. Furthermore, he indicated that security and military agencies play a vital role in supporting state authority, particularly in counter-terrorism efforts, border protection, and maintaining internal security. He affirmed these agencies' continuous development of their capabilities and consolidation of the rule of law to guarantee the protection of Iraq and its national decision. He noted that Iraqi security forces have engaged in conflicts and achieved victories against terrorism and crime, securing complete triumph.
