The Baghdad Operations Command announced on Saturday the initiation of security and organizational measures to secure the peaceful protests scheduled to begin tomorrow at Tahrir Square in the city center. The command stated that these measures are in line with directives from the Prime Minister and recommendations from the General Commander of the Armed Forces, aiming to protect protesters and ensure their safety. The procedures include thorough inspections of individuals near the roads leading to Tahrir Square, focusing on providing the highest level of security and preserving public and private property, while adhering to human rights principles and maintaining public order. The command confirmed that the roads leading to Tahrir Square will not be closed by security units, and any closure will only occur under orders issued from the command headquarters. Additionally, the passage of tuk-tuks and motorcycles of all types on the main highways leading to the square has been banned starting from midnight tonight.
