Minister of Health Abdul Hussein Al-Musawi announced on Tuesday the initiation of renovation work for five hospitals in the capital, Baghdad, funded by a private donation from the Prime Minister. Minister Al-Musawi stated that Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi directly contributed two million US dollars to the Ministry of Health. This donation aims to secure a specific medicine urgently needed by the ministry, due to the unavailability of the necessary financial allocations for its purchase. He added that the technical assessments for the renovation of several hospitals, including Baghdad Hospital in Medical City, Al-Kadhimiya, Al-Kindi, Al-Yarmouk, and Al-Zaafaraniya, estimated the total cost at approximately 47 billion Iraqi Dinars. Al-Musawi confirmed that this amount was also donated by the Prime Minister at his private expense, and specialized teams have already commenced the renovation operations. The Minister of Health pointed out that highlighting these initiatives serves to encourage other parties to actively contribute to supporting and developing the health sector. In this regard, Al-Musawi noted the cooperation of the Private Hospitals Association, which has committed to performing 10 surgical operations monthly, an increase from the four operations previously required of them.
