Weather Forecast: Rain Eases Tonight with New Wet Spell Expected Next Tuesday
The Iraqi Meteorological Authority announced on Saturday that the country is expected to experience a new rainy weather system starting next Tuesday. Satellite imagery monitored thunderous convective clouds accompanied by light rain showers over parts of the central region and Nineveh, which are currently moving eastward toward Wasit and Diyala. Forecasts indicate that this rainy pattern will gradually recede tonight, while chances remain for rain clouds to develop over the far northern areas on Sunday. The authority stated that winds will shift gradually to moderate northwesterly breezes, initiating in western sectors tonight and spreading across the rest of the cities by Sunday. This shift will usher in a slight drop in temperatures and break the prevailing heat, alongside an increased likelihood of light to moderate dust rising, particularly in the western, central, southwestern, and desert zones. Humidity in the southern cities is expected to diminish by Monday morning before climbing again on Wednesday evening. Initial projections confirm that the anticipated wet spell will commence on Tuesday across central and southern areas before expanding further.
