US Embassy in Beirut Confirms Ongoing Operations and Urges Enrollment in Security Program

The US Embassy in Beirut confirmed on Wednesday that it continues to operate normally, providing limited routine services to American citizens as well as visa services. The embassy urged American citizens traveling to or residing in the Middle East to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) managed by the US Department of State. It explained that registration in the program allows access to the latest security updates and facilitates communication with citizens during emergencies. The embassy also encouraged citizens to stay connected through its official websites in both Arabic and English, as well as its social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and its WhatsApp channel.
