UAE targeting Barakah plant from Iraq airspace caused absence national state
The advisor to the UAE President, Anwar Gargash, stated that the targeting of the Barakah plant from Iraqi airspace was caused by the absence of the national state.
Gargash said on the (X) platform: "The targeting of the Barakah peaceful nuclear power plant by Iranian militias in Iraq is a dangerous indicator of the scale of the threat facing the region, resulting from the absence of the national state on one hand, and clear violations of international law on the other, including the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions of 1977 and Security Council Resolution 487 of 1981."
He added: "Just as the hijacking and piracy of the Strait of Hormuz represent a threat to the global economy and the international system, the targeting of Barakah is a targeted criminal act and a direct violation of international law."
He continued: "From Hormuz to Barakah, the threat expands beyond the Arabian Gulf to affect the entire international system, reflecting a mentality of chaos and blackmail that disregards the security of peoples, international law, or the stability of the global economy, in its pursuit of survival and imposing its aggressive logic."
