Recent media reports have dismissed speculation regarding Bayern Munich's interest in signing Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Manchester City in the coming period, despite City undergoing a difficult phase following a strong start under Enzo Maresca leading the Premier League table with 15 points. German journalist Christian Falk reported in Bild that the Bavarian management is entirely focused on renewing the contract of English striker Harry Kane. Falk confirmed that negotiations are proceeding positively, with the club expecting the player to finalize his decision directly after the international break. Securing a new two-year deal with an option for a third season would guarantee coach Vincent Kompany a top-tier attacking asset in that position. Falk noted that pursuing a player like Haaland involves not just the transfer fee, but also massive wage demands. Bayern does not typically offer salaries matching the Norwegian's current earnings in Manchester, estimated at 35 million euros annually. This presents an exorbitant cost even before calculating the transfer fee, as even a free transfer would require a substantial signing-on bonus, prompting Bayern to merely monitor developments. He concluded that while Bayern admires Haaland just like other European giants, they remain extremely satisfied with Kane. Consequently, there is no room to sign the Norwegian forward either tactically on the pitch or financially within the club's wage structure, amid reports of an agreement with Kane until 2029.
