Thi Qar Investment clarifies reality of Nasiriyah Corniche project details
The Thi Qar Investment Commission issued an official clarification on Tuesday regarding the circulating image on social media platforms concerning a site on the Nasiriyah Corniche, emphasizing that the mentioned location has no connection to any investment project licensed by it and does not fall within its administrative jurisdiction. The commission stated in a media document that the site operates under the surface lease system, which falls exclusively within the duties and powers of the Nasiriyah Municipality Directorate based on applicable laws, confirming no relation to the management or granting of leases in that area. It clarified the fundamental difference between investment projects covered by the investment law and entities authorized to grant licenses, versus the lease system which possesses a completely different legal framework and supervisory body. It pointed out that it previously canceled all investment licenses related to the Corniche site to support project completion and beautify the city's interface according to public interest. It reiterated that the spread image does not concern any project affiliated with it, urging activists and media professionals to verify accuracy and distinguish between investment and leasing to prevent confusion and keep accusations away from unrelated entities.
