Prime Minister Receives Invitation to Visit Pakistan

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received an official invitation today, Monday, to visit the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. The invitation was extended during Al-Zaidi's reception of Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, the special envoy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who conveyed greetings and congratulations from Pakistani President Arif Ali Zardari on the occasion of the government's formation. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to continue strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation across various fields, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry and agriculture, in addition to regulating the entry of Pakistani visitors into Iraq. This cooperation aims to achieve the mutual interests of both peoples and support efforts towards development and prosperity. The Prime Minister affirmed Iraq's support for efforts to establish regional stability and shield the region and its peoples from the repercussions of any escalation. Al-Zaidi also commended Pakistan's efforts in concluding the Memorandum of Understanding and the de-escalation agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, which aims to end conflict and establish security and peace. For his part, the Pakistani President's envoy emphasized his government's keenness to develop relations with Iraq across all vital sectors, praising the positive steps Iraq is taking to enhance security and stability at both regional and international levels.
