Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi affirmed that there is no selectivity in addressing corruption files, stressing these issues are purely criminal and not linked to any sectarian, national, or other affiliations. Al-Zaidi stated the government is committed to continuing the pursuit of those accused of corruption, explaining that reactions to anti-corruption measures are natural from those affected or concerned by these legal steps. He added there are no red lines hindering efforts to protect public funds, nor exceptions for anyone involved in corruption cases, emphasizing that the only option for those involved is to return the looted money, as it belongs to the Iraqi people. He also pointed to a high level of cooperation between the government and the judiciary, indicating that the common goal is to recover the people's money and protect their rights. Regarding the arms file, Al-Zaidi clarified the government has initiated dialogue with factions, and its work will subsequently move to political and social spheres. He affirmed that once the specified deadline expires, weapons will be completely monopolized by official state institutions and specialized armed and security forces. Concerning dollar shipments, he explained their delay was linked to obstacles from regional conditions and air navigation, clarifying that cash payments have resumed their course according to the scheduled timetable after conditions stabilized. Al-Zaidi affirmed Iraq is set to announce political cooperation and economic partnership with the United States, pointing to the government's efforts to create rapprochement between Washington and Tehran. He also noted the endeavor to establish a strategic economic partnership with Saudi Arabia, describing it as a strategic depth for Iraq, and asserting that Iraq, in turn, represents a depth for it. Al-Zaidi clarified that Iraq, a founding member of OPEC, will not withdraw, but is striving to obtain a fair and equitable production share within the organization. Regarding the relationship with the Kurdistan Region, Al-Zaidi affirmed the government will succeed in resolving all outstanding issues, stressing its approach is not based on postponing problems but on finding fundamental solutions.
