The parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed Sunday that over one hundred draft laws await full legislative processing, including reading, discussion, and voting. Committee member, MP Ibtisam Al-Hilali, stated that the "previous government withdrew several draft laws from the Council of Representatives to amend and rephrase certain articles." Al-Hilali expressed hope that the current government would resubmit these laws to parliament for completion. She urged the swift referral of a set of draft laws to the Council of Representatives for a vote during the second legislative session, scheduled for next July. Key among these, she noted, are the Popular Mobilization Forces Law, the Civil Service Law, and the proposed amendment to the employee salary scale.
