Judiciary: 25 Billion Dinars, 4 kg Gold Seized in Detained Oil Official's Case
The investigative judge of the Central Criminal Court for Anti-Corruption, Judge Dhia Jaafar, announced today, Thursday, the seizure of significant sums of money as part of ongoing investigations into the case of the Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs, the detained suspect Adnan Al-Jumaili. Judge Jaafar clarified, in a statement issued by the Supreme Judicial Council, that a portion of the seized funds was deposited with several individuals, while another part was found hidden inside the walls of residential homes. The total amount of seized assets reached 25 billion Iraqi dinars and 200,000 US dollars, in addition to 4 kilograms of gold jewelry. He confirmed that investigations into the suspect's case are ongoing as part of efforts to track the proceeds of the crime and identify those involved.
