Iraqi Embassy in Tehran Establishes Committee Following Assault on Students
The Iraqi Embassy in Tehran announced on Monday the formation of a committee to follow up on an assault against Iraqi students in Semnan province. Iraq's Ambassador to Tehran, Yasser Abdul Zahra, stated that the embassy received information regarding a misunderstanding, verbal altercation, and assault involving a group of Iraqi students. The Ambassador clarified that a special committee was formed and immediately dispatched to the students' residence. The situation was contained, and its repercussions were addressed in coordination with the relevant authorities. He emphasized the embassy's continuous monitoring of Iraqi students' affairs and conditions across various Iranian provinces, affirming that the diplomatic mission will not tolerate any transgression or assault against them, and is committed to providing the necessary protection and support to ensure their safety and rights. The Ambassador also urged Iraqi students studying in Iran to respect the environmental and social realities of Iran, and to uphold discipline, student awareness, and mutual respect.
