Government Directs Acceleration of Basic Designs for New Cities

Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi directed on Tuesday to expedite the completion of the basic designs for the new cities, which will commence after finalizing the allocation of the necessary lands. Al-Zaidi chaired a meeting to follow up on the implementation of new city projects in Baghdad and other provinces, attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, the Head of the Advisory Board at the Prime Minister's Office, along with several advisors and general directors. He emphasized the importance of these cities being integrated urban centers that include government institutions, commercial and economic centers, recreational facilities, and large residential complexes, contributing to the advancement of service and administrative conditions. Al-Zaidi reviewed the steps and procedures taken by the concerned committees to prepare the basic designs and their details, and to monitor the implementation requirements, ensuring sustainable and fundamental solutions to service and infrastructure challenges.
