The Central Bank of Iraq definitively denied on Wednesday reports circulating about any intention to change the dollar exchange rate. The bank affirmed in a statement that there is currently no intention to adjust the Iraqi Dinar exchange rate. The Central Bank warned against the circulation of misleading news, pointing to its monitoring of a forged document claiming that the Prime Minister's office submitted a request to the Parliament's financial committee to change the exchange rate to 1600 dinars per dollar. The bank urged all media outlets and citizens to exercise utmost accuracy and to rely solely on information issued from its official sources.
