Iran: Trump's Remarks Effectively Closed Negotiation Door
Alaa Eddin Boroujerdi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated that recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump have effectively closed the path to negotiations between Tehran and Washington. Boroujerdi described the American rhetoric as "offensive and unacceptable." The Iranian official emphasized that Trump's "offensive statements" against Iranian officials have effectively ended the negotiation process, stressing Iran's readiness for "all options" should the United States announce an end to its commitments. Boroujerdi warned that Trump "must realize that Iran is not alone," and that the "axis of resistance" will mobilize with all its capabilities against U.S. interests in the region if circumstances require. Boroujerdi's comments followed Trump's statements during a NATO summit in Ankara, where he declared that a ceasefire with Iran was "practically over" and described Iranian officials as "depraved and sick people," marking a new escalation in rhetoric. These developments reflect continued political tension between Tehran and Washington, increasing doubts about the future of any potential communications and negotiations amid escalating accusations of violating agreements.
