Mines Strike Two Oil Tankers Off Omani Side of Strait of Hormuz

Two oil tankers were struck by naval mines while attempting to traverse the segment of the Strait of Hormuz located off the Omani coast. Tehran reiterated its warning that "any unauthorized passage through the Strait will entail consequences." Providing details of the incident, a spokesperson for Iran's "Khatam al-Anbiya" headquarters stated via the "X" platform that "Iran had previously declared this route, situated on the Omani side, to be illegal." The spokesperson confirmed that "the explosions inflicted damage upon the two oil tankers, rendering them unable to continue their journey." The official emphasized Iran's firm stance that "any unauthorized transit through the Strait will incur consequences."
