Integrity Commission Apprehends Tikrit Municipality Investment Director for Illegal Land Grant Promotions

The Federal Commission of Integrity (CoI) announced Friday the apprehension of the Investment Department director at Tikrit Municipality. The director faces accusations of deliberately violating official duties for personal gain at the state's expense. The CoI stated that Salah al-Din investigation office staff arrested the director for promoting investment transactions to grant land plots via usufruct without necessary official approvals, a clear violation of law. The arrest followed a warrant from the Salah al-Din investigative court judge, specialized in integrity cases. Documents related to Tikrit Municipality were seized from the suspect's residence, along with cash in Iraqi Dinars and US Dollars, and gold jewelry. The Commission confirmed the specialized investigative judge decided to detain the suspect under Article (331) of the Penal Code.
