Housing Ministry Reveals 65 Percent Completion on Second Jadriya Bridge and Abu Nuwas Hits 88 Percent
The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities announced on Saturday the completion of 230 meters out of 520 meters, representing the total length of the second Jadriya Bridge, with an execution rate exceeding 65%, confirming that the overall progress of the Abu Nuwas Street rehabilitation project has reached approximately 88%. Ministry spokesman Nabil Al-Saffar stated in a press briefing that field works are actively continuing to complete the bridge, which will establish a vital corridor connecting the Karkh and Rusafa districts while enhancing traffic flow toward the Al-Qadisiyah axes, Nisoor Square, and nearby surrounding areas. Al-Saffar explained that the bridge serves as a major component of the Abu Nuwas Street development project, which was partially opened earlier, noting that the current progress of the bridge itself has surpassed 65%. He added that the cumulative execution rate across all project components, including Abu Nuwas Street sections one and two, the Al-Qadisiyah overpass, and the new Jadriya Bridge, has reached roughly 88%.
