Haaland Announces Purchase of Luxury Home in UAE

Erling Haaland, the star striker of Manchester City, the current leader of the English Premier League, has announced his participation in a luxury residential project called "Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana" located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This upscale sports-themed residential complex is developed by Ohana Development in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, with an estimated investment value of approximately 3.92 billion euros. Haaland revealed the news of purchasing a home in this complex through a video posted on his X account, stating: "Hello everyone, I am very happy to join the Manchester City project with Ohana. I just bought a house, and so did my father, and we will soon be neighbors." The event was attended by about 4,000 people, including Alfie Haaland, Erling’s father, who took the stage shortly after Pep Guardiola, the former Manchester City coach and current brand ambassador. Guardiola spoke for about half an hour, praising the host city and describing it as his "second home." The player's father expressed regret over his son's absence, saying Erling really wished to be there. The Norwegian international concluded his introductory video by saying, "We love this area very much, so I am really excited about this." The complex is located next to Yas Canal on Yas Island and includes various facilities such as a gym, a karting track, an open-air stadium, a spa, a wellness center, restaurants, climbing walls, and dedicated skiing areas. Reports indicate that the average price for two-bedroom townhouses is around 935,000 euros, while five-bedroom villas measuring 600 square meters reach about 2.8 million euros, with the most luxurious properties starting from 8.4 million euros. Purchasing these properties grants owners a "golden visa," allowing them to reside in the country for ten years. When asked about the real estate deal involving Erling and Alfie Haaland in the Middle East, the financial advisor for Haaland’s team declined to comment, saying, "If you have seen the video and the event, there is no need for any further comment." Erling Haaland’s real estate portfolio is extensive, including an apartment in the Sommerro complex in Oslo, another apartment in his hometown Bryne, and a luxury villa in Marbella. He has also recently acquired a property in Cheshire, on the outskirts of Manchester.
