The Football Federation confirmed on Monday that Graham Arnold will continue as the coach of the national team. Federation member Ahmed Al-Mousawi stated in a press conference that the Australian coach remains under an official contract and will carry on until the end of the Asian Cup, denying any contact with German coaches or Adnan Hamad regarding the national team coaching position. Al-Mousawi mentioned that names of assistant coaches for Arnold have been proposed, with the assistant coach to be announced next week. He also noted the formation of committees to organize upcoming tournaments, including one for the four-nation tournament in Basra and another to oversee the Gulf Cup scheduled to be held in Iraq. He added that the federation contracted a company to rehabilitate the Ali Kazem and Ali Hussein stadiums and discussed a report on the coaching staff submitted by Arnold to the teams department, which was reviewed by the federation president. Furthermore, Al-Mousawi announced approval for a new technical committee tasked with evaluating the federation’s technical work across all teams. Members will be selected in a meeting planned for tomorrow with a technical figure. He confirmed that the new head of the referees department will be Portuguese and will start work next week.
