Details revealed for international friendly tournament in Basra
The Iraq Football Association announced, on Monday, the format of the international friendly tournament hosted by the city of Basra from November 9 to 17, with the participation of the national teams of Iraq, Lebanon, Iran, and Palestine, as part of the teams' preparations for upcoming fixtures. The Iraqi national team will open its campaign in the tournament by facing its Lebanese counterpart, while the Iranian team will meet its Palestinian counterpart in the second match of the semi-finals. According to the tournament system, the semi-final matches will take place between the participating teams, with the two winners qualifying for the final match to compete for the tournament title, while the losers will meet in the match to determine third and fourth places. Each team will play two matches during its participation in the sporting event, which comes within the teams' preparation program for upcoming commitments, providing an opportunity for the coaching staff to assess players' readiness and grant them more experience and friction against different football schools.
