Baghdad Operations Command Shuts Down Two Factories, Landfill, Arrests Violators

Baghdad Operations Command announced on Monday the closure of two factories and a sanitary landfill, arresting several violators, in response to public appeals. The Diwani Order Committee (241285) continues its monitoring and auditing of unlicensed and non-compliant factories, workshops, and metal-melting kilns, aiming to reduce environmental pollution from gas emissions and odors accompanying production processes. The Command clarified that the Committee, in collaboration with detachments from the National Security Service, Rusafa and Baghdad Environmental Police, and the First Federal Police Division, closed two unauthorized factories producing mastic material, for shredding, and recycling waste. This action came in response to appeals from residents of the Basmaya Residential Complex. Additionally, the landfill site in the Nabaei area was shut down due to its violation of regulations and conditions stipulated by the Ministries of Health and Environment. Several violators were arrested and referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
