Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi on Saturday approved the promotion file for a number of Interior Ministry officers. A statement issued by his media office indicated that "the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, visited the Ministry of Interior, where he chaired a meeting attended by the Ministry's undersecretaries and senior officers." The meeting aimed to review the Ministry's security plans, its efforts in various security sectors, and the services provided to citizens, in addition to discussing key challenges and ways to address them. Al-Zaidi commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, including all its officers and personnel, in fostering community stability and security. He stressed that the Ministry's direct engagement with citizens requires all its employees to prioritize the services provided, and to interact with citizens with a high level of respect, in accordance with human rights standards and free from partisan affiliations. The Prime Minister also addressed the anti-corruption file, affirming the government's continued pursuit of corrupt individuals to restore the rights of Iraqi citizens, highlighting that the Ministry of Interior serves as the government's executive arm in this endeavor. He emphasized zero tolerance for any corrupt person, regardless of their affiliations, reiterating his directives to the Integrity Commission, the Financial Supervision Bureau, and security forces to follow up on the anti-corruption file, which has become a popular demand. Al-Zaidi expressed his gratitude for the significant stance taken by the leader of the National Shiite Current, Mr. Muqtada Al-Sadr, as well as the Council of Representatives, the Supreme Judicial Council, and the positions of all political forces and tribal leaders supporting the government in its anti-corruption campaign. The statement clarified that "the meeting reviewed the mechanisms and regulations related to officer promotions and retirement, with a vote held on officers promoted from Brigadier General to Major General and from Major General to Lieutenant General." In this regard, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces affirmed that "all officers will receive their due promotions, and no officer or member of the Ministry will be denied their right."
