The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested, on Wednesday, the government of Iraq to urgently prevent "hostile" acts emanating from its territory.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement, the United Arab Emirates' condemnation in the strongest terms and its absolute rejection of the "sinful terrorist attacks" originating from Iraqi territory, which target vital civilian facilities in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf countries, in a flagrant violation of their sovereignty and airspace, and a clear breach of the provisions of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter.

The Ministry stressed the necessity of the government of the Republic of Iraq's commitment to urgently prevent all hostile acts emanating from its territory without any condition or restriction, and the necessity of dealing with these threats urgently, immediately, and responsibly; in a manner consistent with the relevant international and regional laws and charters.

The Ministry also emphasized the importance of Iraq playing its role in consolidating security and stability in the region, in a way that preserves its sovereignty and enhances its position as an active and responsible partner in its regional surroundings.
