Trade Ministry Expands Installment Sales for Construction Materials

The Ministry of Trade is set to expand its initiative for selling construction materials in installments across all its branches nationwide. This expansion was recently inaugurated with the opening of a branch in Salah al-Din Governorate. The Ministry is also exploring the inclusion of solar energy systems within the initiative, in cooperation with a Chinese company. Areej Al-Jumaili, Director General of the Ministry's General Company for Construction Materials Trade, confirmed the initiative launched in the first half of 2026, initially limited to Baghdad branch citizens and employees. She elaborated on plans to extend the initiative's scope to all national branches, starting with Salah al-Din, to be followed by consecutive openings in other governorates. In a related development, Al-Jumaili disclosed that the company is currently discussing with a specialized Chinese firm the provision of solar energy systems to citizens under the initiative, initially at the Baghdad and Salah al-Din branches. She stressed the vital role of these systems in advancing the country's transition towards clean and sustainable energy.
