Tehran has forcefully responded to recent threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to seize Kharg Island, vowing that no American soldier will return alive to their country. This response came from Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Parliament, who stated via his "X" account: "Trump is talking again about occupying Kharg Island. Come on, we are waiting for you, and we promise you that not a single American soldier will return alive." Previously, Trump had warned Iran that the United States might launch additional strikes on Wednesday evening, asserting that American forces "might seize Kharg Island today." He added at the time: "I will issue a simple warning: We will hit them hard tonight." Trump made these remarks during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Turkey, where he also suggested that his country might re-impose sanctions on Iran.
