Tehran Warns Paris on Stances Towards Iran, Affirms Decisive Defense of Interests

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran is committed to establishing relations based on mutual respect and shared benefits with all countries, including France, but will take serious and decisive steps to defend its interests and national affairs. During his meeting with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot in New York, Araghchi expressed his dissatisfaction with what he described as France's interventionist stances towards Iran. He emphasized the necessity for the French Embassy to adhere to the internal laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic. He also considered Paris's positions regarding regional developments, especially what he termed the "American and Israeli military aggression against Iran," to be unacceptable, accusing France of applying double standards in dealing with the human rights file. The Iranian minister affirmed that his country remains open to strengthening relations with various nations based on mutual respect and common interests, while simultaneously reiterating Tehran's determination to protect its national interests.
