Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, announced Saturday that the path of agreements with the United States has been fully suspended. Baghaei attributed this decision to Washington's failure to meet its commitments and its continued attacks against the nation. Baghaei clarified that Article Five of the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the US does not permit Washington to open an independent, parallel path in the Strait of Hormuz. He blamed "aggressors" for Iran's restrictive measures taken in the Strait. Baghaei stressed Iran remains committed to its pledges only if the United States fulfills its obligations, affirming "one-sided compliance cannot be expected." He also stated Iran did not initiate the breach of its commitments, noting the US practically breached the agreement "from day one."
