Suspect Arrested for Armed Robbery in Baghdad and Dhi Qar

The Intelligence Agency announced on Thursday evening the arrest of a suspect involved in armed robbery incidents in Baghdad and Dhi Qar provinces. The agency stated that the Deputy Minister for Intelligence and Federal Investigations supervised the operation following intelligence reports about a high-risk fugitive wanted for multiple criminal cases. A specialized team was formed, and after surveillance and investigation, the suspect's location was identified. Upon the security forces' arrival, the suspect opened fire, prompting the enforcement of engagement rules, resulting in his injury and capture. The suspect committed armed robberies at jewelry stores in Dhi Qar and also assaulted a restaurant chain owner in Baghdad, injuring him with a gunshot. All legal procedures were taken against him; he confessed to the charges during interrogation, and judicial measures were implemented accordingly.
