Sudani and Barzani Discuss Federal Budget and Completing Government Cabinet

On Monday, Reconstruction and Development Coalition leader Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with Kurdistan Democratic Party leader Masoud Barzani to discuss political developments in Iraq and the region, alongside forming the federal government. A statement from al-Sudani’s media office indicated that talks emphasized accelerating the cabinet’s completion and offering necessary political backing to the federal government to execute its agenda and fulfill official duties. Both sides reviewed the federal budget, stressing the significance of moving toward its parliamentary vote, alongside enacting crucial legislation to support state institutions and meet constitutional obligations. Additionally, the meeting addressed bilateral coordination between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, while examining post-international coalition mission challenges, underscoring the importance of maintaining overall stability and strengthening the rule of law.
