Sudani and Barzani Discuss Baghdad-Erbil Relations and Regional Developments in Iraq

The head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, met on Monday in Erbil with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, to discuss bilateral ties between the federal government and the region, alongside the latest developments in Iraq and the Middle East. A press statement from al-Sudani’s media office stated that the meeting highlighted the need to bolster coordination and cooperation among national political forces to support Baghdad. Both officials emphasized that such collaboration is crucial for maximizing public revenues, confronting pressing challenges, and delivering better services to all Iraqi citizens without discrimination. Al-Sudani’s trip to Erbil coincided with his scheduled participation in the Middle East Research Institute (MERI) forum, taking place this Monday.
