The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has summoned Iran’s ambassador in New Delhi following gunfire directed at two Indian-flagged vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. These escalations occur just a day after President Donald Trump announced that Iran had agreed to reopen the strait. However, shipping data indicates that Tehran reimposed restrictions shortly after lifting a 50-day blockade, leading to direct attacks on commercial traffic in this critical global waterway.
