Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez confirmed on Friday that excellent relations with Iraq will continue during the government of Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement it received that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received today, Friday, a congratulatory message from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, congratulating him on the occasion of forming the new government, expressing his wishes for the government's success in its duties after gaining the confidence of the Parliament."
Sánchez expressed in his letter "his desire to meet Al-Zaidi," stressing that "the excellent bilateral relations between Iraq and Spain will continue during Al-Zaidi's government, in a way that achieves mutual benefit."
He pointed to "the interest of his country's companies in working in Iraq, alongside expanding joint trade and diverse strategic cooperation, increasingly."
