The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has expanded its strategic procedures aimed at curbing irregular migration, confirming that soft loans are available to all returnees without exception, in accordance with approved regulatory conditions. Osama Al-Khafaji, Director General of the Department of Labour and Vocational Training at the ministry, stated in remarks to the official newspaper that credit facilities are open to all applicants meeting the required standards. He explained that these initiatives seek to secure genuine economic opportunities that help returnees achieve personal stability and social integration, while providing sustainable income sources that diminish the underlying motives for irregular migration. Furthermore, Al-Khafaji pointed out that the ministry's anti-irregular migration measures extend far beyond awareness campaigns about travel risks. They include practical operational steps, such as introducing available services to youth and returnees and promoting knowledge regarding the social security system to generate viable employment alternatives for targeted segments. He noted that concessional loans funded by the designated fund are accessible, while beneficiaries continue processing their applications regularly. Regarding economic sectors capable of absorbing returnees, Al-Khafaji highlighted small enterprises as a primary domain for viable opportunities. He noted that the rehabilitation process requires returnees to participate in business innovation courses, psychological support sessions, and resume drafting workshops. Following the completion of these mandatory phases, beneficiaries are referred to the loans department to finalize their paperwork and secure their soft financing.
