Significant Drop in Strait of Hormuz Ship Traffic

Preliminary ship tracking data, made available on Friday, revealed a decrease in the number of vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday to just 9 ships. This marks a notable reduction from the 14 vessels recorded the previous day and is significantly below the ten-day average of approximately 18 ships. Information indicated that eight ships exited the strait, while only one vessel entered. It should be noted that some ships may navigate waterways with their transponders switched off, thus not being included in these counts. Among the eight departing vessels, a giant gas tanker sailing without cargo was observed, in addition to a fully loaded very large crude carrier. Conversely, the sole vessel that entered the strait was a bulk dry cargo ship.
